NEWPRO Sales Representative Highlight: Roofing/Siding Product Specialist, Jody Kennedy
Today, we would like to highlight one of our sales representatives, Jody Kennedy.
Jody has been a member of our sales team since March 2019. While researching sales jobs in the home improvement industry, she came across NEWPRO’s website. She was very drawn to the fact that NEWPRO not only had amazing 5-star online reviews, but also showcased a great company culture and giving back to the communities that they serve.
We sat down with Jody to learn more about her NEWPRO experience:
Question: What is most rewarding about what you do every day in sales?
Jody: I am helping people learn more about their homes and what they need to solve issues that they are having with their homes.
Question: What is it like being a female in a predominantly male industry? What would you say to women to encourage them to consider home improvement sales?
Jody: I absolutely love being the minority and in a male-dominated field. While co-workers were initially surprised to see me as a roofing and siding representative – and then see me succeed, they are incredibly supportive and proud of my success. They continuously make me feel special. The customers are also surprised to see a woman show up at their door to talk roofing and siding. I believe it gives me an advantage. I see things through the woman’s perspective design-wise. I would tell other women to present themselves more as a consultant vs. a “sales” person because it is another way to earn the homeowner’s trust. It’s fun and lucrative to be a woman in a male dominated field; it feels like a superpower!
Question: What else would you like to share about your NEWPRO experience?
Jody: NEWPRO has continued to impress me as we’ve gone through the COVID-19 crisis. The management team really cares about you as an individual, but also protects the health and profitability of the company. This is important to me as I’m looking for a long term career with NEWPRO. I’ve seen many companies be taken down in the past 8 months. NEWPRO has worked extra hard to not only be here, but be stronger than ever. NEWPRO was the best choice I ever made!
