Aging in Place is a category near and dear to many of our hearts both personally and professionally. Many of us here at NEWPRO have aging parents – even Mary Cogliani, who turned 100 this year, one of the founders of NEWPRO and mom and grandmother of Nick and Anthony Cogliani is top of mind when we talk about aging in place. We are living longer and we will want to stay in our homes where we feel safe, secure and comforted. So how do we age or better yet, THRIVE, in place? What can we do today that effects our tomorrow in our homes? We were so excited to have the opportunity to participate and speak at one of the MA Council on Aging conference workshops yesterday. We spoke with a group of senior service and agency professionals about senior safety at home and addressed some of today’s options with bath safety including walk-in showers and walk-in tubs. It was a great opportunity to create awareness and learn about the needs of seniors through their caregivers. We hope to continue presenting and spreading awareness of the solutions available today!
