NEWPRO Home Solutions Honors Local Veteran with Free Bathroom Makeover in Recognition of Veterans Day 2023
NEWPRO Home Solutions, a third-generation family-operated home solutions business locate in greater New England, has awarded local veteran Stephen Robbins of Middleborough with the gift of a brand-new bath system, free of charge.
Robbins served in the Marine Corps from 2004-2013 and served two tours in Iraq. He also served as a presidential communicator aboard Marine One during the Obama administration. Robbins was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 2013 as a disabled veteran. Back pain has limited his mobility in recent years. The family’s current shower stall is outdated and makes it difficult for Stephen and his handicapped son to bathe.
In honor of Veterans Day 2023, NEWPRO’s expert installation team will be crashing Robbins’ old shower stall on November 10th, and replacing it with a brand-new shower system, free of charge. The new shower system will be cleaner, safer, and more convenient for the Robbins family to use.
“He does so much for our family and for all of our kids,” said Laura Robbins, who nominated her husband for the free bath makeover. “I felt it would be nice to do something nice for him,” she continued.
“At NEWPRO, giving back is a big part of our culture,” said Marci Katz, VP of NEWPRO. “This is our 7th consecutive year giving back to our veteran community through Operation Home Renovation,” Katz continued, “we are honored to be able to continue giving back to those who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
The Robbins family was surprised with a check from Katz to cover the cost of a full shower renovation on October 18th, 2023. Their shower will be replaced on November 10th, 2023.
“Wow, I truly can’t believe this is happening,” said Stephen Robbins. “I almost feel undeserving, as I know there are so many other veterans out there who are struggling. I can’t say ‘thank you’ enough.”
The Process
NEWPRO posted about the Operation Home Renovation contest online and on social media. We encouraged all New Englanders to think of veterans’ worthy of nomination based on the need for a safer bathing space. We received volumes of entries and narrowed down the field based on stories and interviews from those who nominated them. Then, we selected a winner who met with a NEWPRO design specialist for consultation and to design their new shower. The old shower will be replaced with a safe and spacious new one on or around November 10, 2023.
