NEWPRO announces a community collaboration between Cummings Foundation, NEWPRO, and A Better Chance of Winchester (ABC)
BOSTON (AUGUST,13, 2022) – NEWPRO Home Solutions (NEWPRO), a three-generation, same family-operated home solutions business located in greater New England, is pleased to announce that we have implemented another fantastic project under the NEWPRO Cares given-back initiative. Amazing roofing project we did in collaboration with Winchester ABC! Through a grant from Cummings Foundation, NEWPRO was commissioned to install a brand new roof on the home in just 2 days, and ahead of the next school year. We are so grateful to participate in ABC’s mission of providing support for these scholars to receive excellent public education and support the local community.

Great big thanks to the Cogliani family who are long-time residents of Winchester and founded NEWPRO and their relationship with the Cummings Foundation who provided the grant for the roof that we put on this home. This roofing project is a very special install for us because this home is not just any home! It houses 10-15 young men who are highly qualified, highly-motivated students that attend Winchester high school, and provides scholarships to these students so that they may excel in college and beyond!”, said Marci Katz, Chief Marketing Officer.
“Winchester ABC home is a very special home, and the founding grants mean everything to us. We would not be able to run out the program without the generosity of the Cummings Foundation, many individuals in town, and the great NEWPRO company. We realized that the roof needed work because there was a leak, and it was not looking good. So it was top of our list of what we needed to do. Life here in Winchester ABC home is busy, we have eight young men from ages 14 to 18 who are leaving here. Lots of activity going on, the guys do a ton of sports, clubs, in and out…The process has been terrific it was important to us to be respectful for our neighbors the have a beautiful property here, and we want to make sure it stays beautiful, and a NEWPRO team did exactly that”, added Amanda Luis, the Director of student life from Winchester ABC.

About Winchester ABC
WINCHESTER – Winchester ABC (A Better Chance) helps many well-educated young scholars of color achieve the most out of their education, academically and socially. The Daily Times Chronicle interviewed President Eric Woods and Vice President Michele Norman in order to shed more light on Winchester ABC.
ABC is a national nonprofit founded in 1963 with the mission “to increase substantially the number of well-educated young people of color who are capable of assuming positions of responsibility and leadership in American Society.”
The eight to ten scholars who participate in Winchester ABC live in the ABC house in Winchester center within walking distance of Winchester High School, supported and supervised by adult residential coordinators.
