Double Hung: Window Cleaning and Sash Removal Instructions

Cleaning

The beauty and durability of your new Newpro window is manufactured into every frame and sash. In order to preserve the "like-new" beauty of your Newpro window, we recommend cleaning the Celuca components with a non-abrasive household cleaner or soap and water. Clean the glass with ordinary household glass cleaner.

Cleaning Position

To clean your Newpro window from the inside, unlock the window and raise the bottom sash a minimum of six inches. Push the tilt-latch buttons toward the center with both hands and gently pull the sash toward you. The sash will now tilt-in from the top for easy cleaning. When you have finished cleaning the bottom sash, leave it in its' tilted position and repeat the same procedure as noted above for the top sash. When you have finished cleaning both sashes, gently raise the top sash to its original position and snap it back into the frame. Repeat the same procedure for the bottom sash.

Sash Removal

DO NOT REMOVE SASH FOR CLEANING.
REMOVAL IS ONLY REQUIRED FOR GLASS
REPLACEMENT OR EMERGENCY ESCAPE.

Both top and bottom sashes are removed using the same procedure. Place sash in the cleaning position. Grasp side rails, swing either side of window sash up to a 45 degree angle, tilt sash sideways and lift clear. Sash will only come out at the 45 degree angle*. Replace by reversing the removal procedure.

Screens

Each Newpro Double Hung Window features a noncorrosive fiberglass screen cloth that can be easily removed from inside your home by pushing to the left and toward the outside. Replace by reversing the removal procedure.
