What is Attic Barrier?

It is a Space age reflective material that repels heat in summer and retains heat (in the home) in winter.

Why do I need Attic Barrier?

You need it because energy costs continue to climb and may eventulally double.  Ultramax is designed to help reduce your heating and cooling costs using radiant barrier technology.

Does it cause mold?

Ultramax attic insulation is breathable and does not cause mold.

Where does it get installed?

Ultramax attic barrier is installed typically on the floor of your attic.  Ultramax is designed to allow vapor to escape the housing envelope with a perm rating of 13 – it will not contribute to mildew growth in your home.

Will Ultramax create a fire hazard in my attic?

Ultramax attic insulation is fire-resistant with a Class A fire rating – it's less combustible than the structure to which it attaches. Of course, like almost any material, it will melt and eventually burn if exposed to an open flame.

Can I get a tax rebate for installing Ultramax?

Ultramax attic barrier is Department of Energy approved and bears the Energystar® mark. This is the gold standard in energy efficiency and qualifies for most federal, state and energy company rebates. Check with your Newpro rep to learn what's available in your area.
